Not feeling so hot the past few days, trying to flush out any illness with lots of liquids and not the alcoholic kind! Actually, on my recent trip to Indiana, my boyfriend’s father mentioned that he has been adding apple cider vinegar to his juice in the morning because it is full of health benefits. Easily swayed to try various health suggestions, I decided to overlook its sour taste and add a Tablespoon to my daily regimen.
Last night I mixed it in with ginger tea and a little bit of sweetener, not bad! I did the same this morning only using chai tea to get that extra caffeine boost. Here are some of the suggested benefits I found after doing further research. The information below is from globalhealingcenter.com
“Apple Cider Vinegar, that wonderful old-timers home remedy, cures more ailments than any other folk remedy — we’re convinced! From the extensive feedback we’ve received over the past 8 years, the reported cures from drinking Apple Cider Vinegar are numerous. They include cures for allergies (including pet, food and environmental), sinus infections, acne, high cholesterol, flu, chronic fatigue, candida, acid reflux, sore throats, contact dermatitis, arthritis, and gout. Apple Cider Vinegar also breaks down fat and is widely used to lose weight. It has also been reported that a daily dose of apple cider vinegar in water has high blood pressure under control in two weeks!”
Have you ever tried adding apple cider vinegar to a beverage of your choice? Noticed any benefits and if so what were they?
Wow, I had no idea about any of this! I’ve had a bottle of Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar in my pantry for months b/c I thought it was a “staple” but never knew what to do with it-I’ll have to try it now! Can’t say I’m not a bit scared of the taste, though…
You should definitely try it! I am on day three and I am getting used to the taste! Did not even add sweetener this time! Although, I would suggest doing so if you are a newbie
Very interesting. I usually just drink a glass of Apple Cider Vinegar right when I wake up and have a shot before bed. Not really, but this does sound like something I might try. But I don’t think it will go well with coffee. Enjoying your posts so far!
You can use it in daily cooking, too! I’ve used it in baked goods (although I’m not sure what the baking process does to the chemical makeup of vinegar) or to make low or no-oil salad dressings.
